Games = Fun = Laughter = Happy Memories

It was games day in Ward 53 on the Saturday afternoon of 15 November 2008. Our members and guest made up of Zack, Wahid, Shedah, Edward, Qi Jun, Pei Shan, Wei Min, Mervyn and Yanxing came together for a day of fun with the patients of Ward 53.

The patients were separated into 2 groups and played simple games like musical chair and follow the leader. One of the games required the patients to listen to Zack and had to placed number of body parts on the chair. It was amusing to see some of the patients trying to accomplish Zack’s demand. As this was our second visit, some of the patients recognised some of our volunteers and are able to address them by name.

The highlight of the visit was of course “SNACK TIME”. Volunteers served the patients with some snacks to occupy their time. Overall, everyone enjoyed themselves and volunteers and patients are looking forward for the Christmas Party that will be held on 20 Dec 2008. Do feel free to join us then. I promise it will be a party filled with excitement and wonderful performance.

Dinner at Brotzeit German Bier Bar and Restaurant

Benedict from Singapore West met up with Rotaractors from NUS PP Yong Ming, Franz from Rotaract club of Heidelberg and his fellow friends from around the region.

Introduction of German food were made and we were taught how to appreciate beer with food. Bringing the extra flavor to the food as you are eating and drinking at the same time.

Lots and Lots of meat and sausages were eaten and the experience of taking in so much meat is marvelous! Not only that, we had dessert that Singaporean do not eat frequently such as the famous Apple Strudel.

Below are some pictures of the night. Enjoy! Prost! (It mean cheers in German)

We did not bring back anything, but we BOWL the competition over!

On 21st June 2008, our club represented by Dawn, Zack, Wahid and Rtn Karen, geared up ourselves to compete in the annual zone 3 bowling competition. This year, a total of 13 teams signed up to lift the champion shield.

Our club faced tough competition which are made up of semi professional bowlers and veteran comeptitors of the event. However, supported by our cheerleaders, Bing Xian, Benendict, Andrew and our Rotarians, we brave ourselves and hope that we are able to bowl confidentally.

In the end, we did not emerge winners. However we manage to earn a consolation as we managed to achieve the "noisiest" team award. In addition, Dawn made into the top 3 female bowlers catergories and bring back a trophy with her.

RAC SMU team 2 emerge champions, followed by RAC NW and RAC QT respectively. Great job organisers, RAC MC, for making the event a success.
